This raw or 'Sheng' Pu'erh is processed in the city of Dali, Yunnan province, aged just over 10 years, and in a conveniently small cake size of 120g. The cake itself is wonderfully pressed, making it easy to break apart sections of full leaf, and is perfect for storage. 

Even with the still relatively young age of this sheng, the flavor is full of complexity and intrigue, with bitterness only really being prevalent when brewed at high temperatures and at longer steep times ( >20-30 seconds). The flavor is distinctively floral, with a honeysuckle sweetness that lingers for quite some time due to the astringency of the tea. This is a great tea to practice your brewing with, and to learn the complexities of Sheng. Since arriving this has become a daily drinker for our home, and at this price I believe everyone should give it a try, and even let it age further!

Recommended 5-7g leaf to 100ml Gaiwan. Flash wash at 100C/212F and further steeps at 90C/190F. 'Grandpa' Style brewing is also a great choice with this tea at lower temperatures, like a fresh green tea.
