2024 Yiwu Gushu black tea mini balls
This tea is produced by the same person that also handles our 2024 Yibang Sheng Raw Pu'erh, as well as the 2024 Yibang White tea. A small production made just for Tai Yang Teas, their farm focuses on respecting the leaf material itself and preserving the pickings, while accentuating the flavors through a lengthy fermentation and gentle roasting to the black tea. Truly a craft of love
This black tea is loosely pressed into 6-8g "Dragon Balls", and wrapped in our first branded wrapping paper! The aroma of the tea is distinctly sweet, with the roast coming behind it. As soon as it is brewed the aroma will fill the air and the infusions will instantly be a satisfying dark golden-red color. This flavor of the liquor is honey-sweet and crisp, and is truly what the standard of high quality black tea should be set at, with some minerality and tannins to keep the flavor lingering.
Being pressed into a ball, this tea is very fun to brew and to travel with. Throw a ball into a mug, thermos, or Gaiwan and watch as it unfurls as it steeps.
As with our other black tea, this can be brewed at 212F 100C, and is very forgiving to brew, lasting upwards of 10-12 steeps if done Gongfu style, and easily brewing ~1L of tea in a thermos.
