Ao Fu Hou, a lesser known and rarely cultivated Dan Cong Oolong is known for its powerful aroma and unique flavor. The leaf is extremely well preserved, with nearly no broken leaf or tea dust, and the quality of the brew is second-to-none.
This tea, along with the rest of our Phoenix Dan Cong collection comes from the renowned oolong town of Wudongcun Village (Wudong Miao village) at an elevation of around 1000m, picked by a family with over 80 years of generational experience, we're excited to bring the heritage of this tea to more people.
This is a special one, an immediate floral, pine nut aroma on the dry leaf, transforming into a sweet roasted fruitiness on the wet leaf. The flavor is distinctly smooth and light on the palette, with a vegetal note that most reminds us of water chestnuts, but with an added sweetness. In the realm of Dan Cong Oolong, this is one of our favorites.
